Google Calendar to Infomaniak Migration: Complete Guide

The InfoSwitch Team 9 janvier 2026 7 min read

Google Calendar has become essential for managing schedules. But leaving Google doesn\'t mean losing your years of appointments and events. Here\'s how to cleanly migrate to the Infomaniak calendar.

Discover kSuite with Calendar

What Will Be Migrated

  • All your events – Past and future
  • Recurring events – With their recurrence rules
  • Reminders and alarms – Configured notifications
  • Descriptions and notes – All your event details
  • Locations – Addresses and locations

Limitations

Calendars shared by others and subscription calendars (holidays, etc.) will need to be reconfigured manually after migration.

Step 1: Export from Google Calendar

Quick method (all calendars)

  1. Go to Google Calendar Export
  2. Click "Export"
  3. A ZIP file containing all your calendars (.ics format) will be downloaded
  4. Unzip the ZIP file

Selective method (a specific calendar)

  1. Open Google Calendar
  2. In the sidebar, hover over the desired calendar
  3. Click the three dots → "Settings and sharing"
  4. Scroll down to "Export calendar"
  5. An .ics file will be downloaded

Step 2: Prepare Infomaniak

Before importing, make sure you have:

  • An active Infomaniak email account
  • Access to the Infomaniak webmail
  • Decided whether to create a new calendar or use the default one

Create a new calendar (optional)

  1. Log into Infomaniak webmail
  2. Go to the Calendar section
  3. Click "+" or "New calendar"
  4. Name it (e.g., "Main Calendar")

Step 3: Import into Infomaniak

1

Open the webmail

Log into mail.infomaniak.com

2

Go to the calendar

Click the Calendar icon in the menu

3

Start the import

Click the menu (three dots or gear icon) → "Import"

4

Select the file

Choose your .ics file exported from Google

5

Choose the target calendar

Select which calendar to import the events into

6

Confirm

The import may take a few minutes depending on the number of events

Post-Import Checks

Verify recurring events

Recurring events are sometimes misinterpreted during export/import. Pay special attention to:

  • Weekly meetings
  • Birthdays
  • Events with exceptions (modified or deleted occurrences)

Check time zones

If your events appear shifted by one or more hours:

  1. Check the time zone of your Infomaniak calendar
  2. Settings → Time zone → Europe/Paris (or your time zone)

Sync with Your Devices

iPhone / iPad

  1. Settings → Calendar → Accounts → Add Account
  2. Select "Other" → "Add CalDAV Account"
  3. Server: caldav.infomaniak.com
  4. Username: your Infomaniak email
  5. Password: your password

Android

Use the DAVx⁵ app (free on F-Droid or paid on Play Store):

  1. Install DAVx⁵
  2. Add an account with your Infomaniak email
  3. The app automatically detects your calendars
  4. Select which ones to sync

Outlook Windows

Install the CalDAV Synchronizer plugin (see our dedicated guide).

Mac (Apple Calendar)

  1. Open the Calendar app
  2. Calendar → Add Account → Other CalDAV Account
  3. Enter your Infomaniak credentials

Migrating Shared Calendars

Calendars you share with others require special handling:

If you are the owner

  1. Export the shared calendar from Google
  2. Import it into Infomaniak
  3. Recreate sharing: Calendar menu → Share
  4. Invite the same people with their email addresses

If the calendar belongs to someone else

You cannot migrate a calendar you don\'t own. Ask the owner to:

  • Also migrate to Infomaniak, or
  • Provide you with an ICS subscription link that you can add in Infomaniak

Re-Adding Public Calendars

Public calendars (holidays, sports events...) need to be re-subscribed:

Public holidays

  1. In the Infomaniak webmail, go to Calendar
  2. Settings → Subscriptions or "Add calendar by URL"
  3. Use a public calendar ICS URL, for example:
    https://calendar.google.com/calendar/ical/en.usa%23holiday%40group.v.calendar.google.com/public/basic.ics

Disabling Google Calendar

Once the migration is validated:

  1. Remove Google Calendar sync from your devices
  2. Optionally, delete your Google calendars to avoid duplicates
  3. Keep your Google account active for a few months just in case

Tip

Keep the Google Calendar export (.ics) in a safe place for at least 6 months. It\'s your backup in case of any issues.

Conclusion

Migrating from Google Calendar to Infomaniak takes less than an hour. The ICS format ensures perfect compatibility and you\'ll find all your events. Your calendar data is now hosted in Switzerland, safe from prying eyes.
